ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,391,733, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Inc. (Boston).
"Stapled intracellular-targeting antimicrobial peptides to treat infection" was invented by Loren D. Walensky (Newton, Mass.) and Rida Mourtada (Brookline, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Structurally stabilized, e.g., stapled, peptides with the ability to translocate through microbial cell membranes to the interior of microbial cells and exert a biological activity there are provided, as are methods of designing, making and using such peptides."
The patent was filed on Feb. 28, 2024, under Application No. 18/590,636.
