ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,444,803, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to DANA AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS GROUP LLC (Maumee, Ohio).
"Battery enclosure fastener" was invented by Christopher M. Cook (McKenzie, Tenn.) and Michael Kevin Nanney (Paris, Tenn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods and systems are provided for a fastener for a battery casing. In one example, the fastener may include a bolt inserted into a sleeve to align and secure parts of a battery casing. The sleeve may be a continuous, unitary structure that may be shaped as a dowel pin and may include a nut and torque limiter."
The patent was filed on Feb. 24, 2022, under Application No. 17/652,450.
