ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,258,507, issued on March 25, was assigned to DAICEL Corp. (Osaka, Japan) and KYUSHU INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (Kitakyushu, Japan).
"Fluorescent diamond and method for producing same" was invented by Motoi Nakao (Kitakyushu, Japan), Shinji Nagamachi (Amagasaki, Japan), Masahiro Nishikawa (Tokyo) and Ming Liu (Tokyo).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides a fluorescent diamond containing an MV center emitting fluorescence at a concentration of 1x1014/cm3 or higher, where M represents a metal or metalloid, and V represents a vacancy."
The patent was filed on Oct. 29, 2019, under Application No. 17/290,105.
