US Patent Issued to Dai Nippon Printing on Nov. 25 for "Barrier film, laminate, and packaging product" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,480,201, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd. (Tokyo).

"Barrier film, laminate, and packaging product" was invented by Hiroyuki Iwahashi (Tokyo), Masahiro Takahashi (Tokyo), Yoshihiro Kishimoto (Tokyo) and Takahumi Shibata (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "[Object] To improve the adhesion of a vapor-deposited film to a substrate.[Solution] A barrier film includes a substrate containing polyester and a vapor-deposited film containing aluminum oxide. At least the elemental bond of Al2O3 and the elemental bond of CN are detected by etching the barrier film using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry f...
