ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,339,106, issued on June 24, was assigned to D & E Holdings Inc. (Pompano Beach, Fla.).

"Fiber reinforced bullet and method of manufacture" was invented by Donald R. Smith (Pompano Beach, Fla.) and Elina B. Jenkins (Pompano Beach, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Bullet constructed from FRP, preferably basalt. The method includes the step of forming pultruded basalt strands positioned co-axially before milling to form a conventional bullet shape.
