ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,409,638, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Cryovac Inc. (Charlotte, N.C.).

"High-shrink, high-strength packaging article exhibiting directional tear" was invented by Ashley Wynne (Woodruff, S.C.), Kelly Ahlgren (Greenville, S.C.), Miles Johnston (Tega Cay, S.C.) and Rebecca Higginbotham (Greenville, S.C.).
