ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,352,524, issued on July 8, was assigned to Crosman Corp. (Bloomfield, N.Y.).

"Air gun with automatic cocking" was invented by Eric A. St. Phillips (Fairport, N.Y.) and John A. Kowalczyk (Fairport, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An automatically cocking air gun includes a cocking mechanism including a compression tube, a compression piston, and a spring. An actuator assembly is coupled to the compression tube to selectively move the compression tube between a firing position and a cocking position. The actuator assembly includes a lead screw and a lead screw nut driving a carriage to move the compression tube."
