ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,246,058, issued on March 11, was assigned to Creighton University (Omaha, Neb.).

"Methods and compositions for treating pain" was invented by Shashank Dravid (Omaha, Neb.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The disclosure provides polypeptides and pharmaceutical compositions thereof. Such polypeptides can be useful, for example, in treating pain in a subject. In some embodiments, the polypeptides are useful for treating neuropathic and/or inflammatory pain."
