"Shippable crate" was invented by James Mataczynski (Bailey, Colo.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A crate system for pouring a liquid including: an exterior container; a collapsible bag; a compression strap wrapped around the collapsible bag and encircling an anterior volume of the exterior container; and a faucet including a handle.
