ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,275,819, issued on April 15, was assigned to Covestro Intellectual Property GmbH & Co. KG (Leverkusen, Germany).

"Process for the decomposition of polyether-polyurethane" was invented by Lukas Reisky (Cologne, Germany) and Gernot Jaeger (Cologne, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A process is provided, by means of which polyurethanes, which have been formed from polyether polyols and aromatic isocyanates, can be decomposed to polyether polyols and aromatic amines."

The patent was filed on Aug. 10, 2020, under Application No. 17/619,100.
