ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,371,943, issued on July 29, was assigned to CornellCookson (Mountain Top, Pa.).
"Universal endlock-windlock" was invented by Christopher J. Rebarchak (White Haven, Pa.) and Joseph L. Balay (Sugarloaf, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In example implementations, a windlock is provided. The windlock includes a body, a windlock lip, and a gusset. The body includes holes to receive a fastener to be coupled to a slat of a roll-up door. The windlock lip is formed from a portion of the body that is bent from the body. The gusset is coupled to the body and the windlock to provide mechanical strength to the windlock lip."
