ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,251,127, issued on March 18, was assigned to CORDYNAMIX INC. (Menlo Park, Calif.).

"Methods and devices for diastolic assist" was invented by Michael D. Laufer (Menlo Park, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The devices and method described herein allow for therapeutic damage to increase volume in these hyperdynamic hearts to allow improved physiology and ventricular filling and to reduce diastolic filling pressure by making the ventricle less stiff."

The patent was filed on Nov. 12, 2020, under Application No. 17/096,068.
