US Patent Issued to Cook Medical Technologies on Sept. 23 for "Flexible endoscopic support system" (North Carolina, Indiana Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,419,496, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Cook Medical Technologies LLC (Bloomington, Ind.).

"Flexible endoscopic support system" was invented by Vihar C. Surti (Winston-Salem, N.C.), John C. Sigmon Jr. (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and William S. Gibbons Jr. (Bloomington, Ind.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A scope system is provided including an elongate tube with a distal portion and a lumen extending therethrough. The scope system also includes at least one accessory channel including a tubular structure with an accessory lumen extending therethrough, the at least one accessory channel movably disposed at least partially within the lumen...
