According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A surgical boot system and sleeve accessory for hip distraction. The surgical boot system includes an L-shaped rigid shell having a proximal portion and a distal portion. A soft liner is attached to the rigid shell and extends along at least one of the proximal portion and the distal portion.
