ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,275,976, issued on April 15, was assigned to COMPAGNIE GENERALE DES ETABLISSEMENTS MICHELIN (Clermont-Ferrand, France).

"Phloroglucinol-resistant cell, in particular yeast" was invented by Odile Ramaen (Ablis, France), Vincent Lafaquiere (Clermont-Ferrand, France) and Dominique Louis (Forges les Bains, France).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a living cell, preferably a host cell, that is phloroglucinol resistant.
