ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,379,021, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE ET AUXENERGIES ALTERNATIVES (Paris).

"Asymmetric-loop cable cylinder" was invented by Philippe Garrec (Palaiseau, France).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A cable cylinder having a screw rotatable by a motor, a nut cooperating with the screw to move in the body, the cable cylinder having a pair of upstream and downstream pulleys on either side of the nut.
