ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,359,732, issued on July 15, was assigned to Commando Pressure Control Inc. (Houston).
"Methods and systems associated with a high-pressure plug" was invented by Joseph Boyd (Katy, Texas) and David Tyroch (Houston).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A bi-directional floating plug that utilizes pressure from fracturing, wirelines, etc. to set a metal-to-metal seal against a fixed insert within a valve body, and a secondary seal via a energized fluid within a sealing groove while the metal-to metal seal is retained."
The patent was filed on Sept. 11, 2023, under Application No. 18/244,442.
