ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,432,411, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Comcast Cable Communications LLC (Philadelphia).
"Audio video synchronization" was invented by Gary Michael Rekstad Jr. (Langhorne, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems, methods, and apparatuses are described for detecting synchronization errors between audio and video signals. Scene changes may be detected based on anchor frames. Offsets between a scene change in a video signal and a reduced audio level or burst of high audio level in the audio signal may indicate a synchronization error."
The patent was filed on April 1, 2024, under Application No. 18/623,733.
