ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,317,140, issued on May 27, was assigned to Comcast Cable Communications LLC (Philadelphia).

"Predictive client mobility session management" was invented by Teddy El-Rashidy (Philadelphia) and Colleen Szymanik (Horsham, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and methods are disclosed that enable predictive device mobility session management in a wireless network. A wireless communications network is able to maintain IP session continuity as a wireless device roams among wireless access points of the communications network by ensuring that the wireless device maintains communications with its home wireless access gateway."
