ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,419,817, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Colgate-Palmolive Co. (New York).

"Oral care compositions and methods of use" was invented by Aarti Rege (East Windsor, N.J.), Michael Prencipe (West Windsor, N.J.), Paul Thomson (Piscataway, N.J.) and Rehana Begum-Gafur (Clifton, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention relates to oral care compositions comprising zinc phosphate, a first source of stannous (e.g., stannous fluoride); and a second source of stannous, wherein the second source of stannous comprises stannous pyrophosphate, as well as to methods of using and of making these compositions."
