ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,343,414, issued on July 1, was assigned to Colgate-Palmolive Co. (New York).

"Oral care compositions and methods of use" was invented by Lisa Marie Manus (Lawrenceville, N.J.), Jonghun Lee (Metuchen, N.J.), Joseph Allan McKinnon Steele (Plainfield, N.J.), Shaopeng Xu (Guangzhou, China) and Yuzhi Deng (Guangzhou, China).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention relates to oral care compositions comprising zinc oxide and zinc citrate, and hyaluronic acid or an alkali metal hyaluronate polymer having a molecular weight greater than 100,000 Da (e.g. from 300 kDa-700 kDa), as well as to methods of using and of making these compositions."
