ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,336,549, issued on June 24, was assigned to ColdSnap Corp. (Billerica, Mass.).

"Rapidly cooling food and drinks" was invented by Matthew Fonte (Concord, Mass.), John Heymans (Hampstead, N.H.), Nicholas Fonte (Sudbury, Mass.), Robert Devaney (Auburndale, Mass.), Vincent Weaver (Brighton, Mass.) and Benjamin Fichera (Newburyport, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems and methods have demonstrated the capability of rapidly cooling the contents of pods containing the ingredients for food and drinks."

The patent was filed on Nov. 17, 2022, under Application No. 17/989,050.
