ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,281,740, issued on April 22, was assigned to Colder Products Co. (Roseville, Minn.).

"Single-use disconnect fluid couplings" was invented by Timothy Charles Benson (Andover, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for purposes of providing a single-use, disconnection functionality that can substantially limit fluid spillage when being disconnected. In some embodiments, the coupling portions cannot be functionally reconnected to each other after being disconnected from each other."

The patent was filed on Sept. 27, 2023, under Application No. 18/373,524.
