ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,324,915, issued on June 10, was assigned to Cochlear Ltd. (Macquarie University, Australia).

"Inner ear electrode implantation outcome assessment" was invented by Christopher Joseph Long (Centennial, Colo.), Zachary Mark Smith (Pymble, Australia), Paul Michael Carter (Galson, Australia) and Peter Gibson (South Coogee, Australia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Presented herein are techniques for assessing one or more outcomes associated with implantation of one or more electrodes into the inner ear of a recipient."

The patent was filed on Feb. 21, 2023, under Application No. 18/171,892.
