ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,457,246, issued on Oct. 28, was assigned to Cisco Technology Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).
"Network connectivity policy management system" was invented by Daniel Boris Kovenat (New Rochelle, N.Y.), Dheepak Ramanujam (Jersey City, N.J.) and Michael Joel O'Connor (Chicago).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A network security system implements connectivity policies of a network environment. The network security system may use a network topology mapping to implement connectivity policies, where the network topology mapping includes sets of security zones, security devices, and zone paths between the security zones via the one or more security devices...
