ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,219,486, issued on Feb. 4, was assigned to CISCO TECHNOLOGY INC. (San Jose, Calif.).
"Systems and methods for power saving in directed multicast service" was invented by Tak Ming Francis Pang (Palo Alto, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a transmitter for communicating with a client, a receiver, and a controller coupled with the transmitter and receiver, wherein the controller is operable to receive a proxy from the client for traffic from a source and transmit a join to the source on behalf of the client."
