ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,284,108, issued on April 22, was assigned to Cisco Technology Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).
"Border node traffic convergence" was invented by Prakash Jain (Fremont, Calif.), Sanjay K. Hooda (Pleasanton, Calif.) and Victor Moreno (Carlsbad, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Techniques for network routing border convergence are described. Backup paths for external connections for a network are established and provide for a temporary path for network traffic during network routing convergence, preventing traffic loss at network border nodes."
The patent was filed on June 29, 2023, under Application No. 18/343,931.
