ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,381,221, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to Aspen Aerogels Inc. (Northborough, Mass.).

"Fibrous carbon aerogels coated with nano-thin silicon as lithium battery anodes" was invented by Roxana Trifu (Worcester, Mass.), Nicholas Leventis (Worcester, Mass.) and Redouane Begag (Hudson, Mass.).
