ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,351,449, issued on July 8, was assigned to Cirkul Inc. (Tampa, Fla.).

"Portable beverage container systems and methods for adjusting the composition of a beverage" was invented by Mark Lyons (Ashburn, Va.), Robert Lawson-Shanks (Reston, Va.), Abraham Maclean (Arlington, Va.), Justin Toelle (Washington), Filipe Aguiar (Reston, Va.) and Aleksander Drozdetski (Herndon, Va.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A beverage apparatus hand-holdable by a user to be portable, can include a beverage chamber housing that includes a chamber for storing a consumable liquid. The beverage apparatus can include a dispensing assembly that includes a receptacle. ...
