ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,246,074, issued on March 11, was assigned to CHS Pharma Inc. (San Francisco).

"Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (GCSF) gene therapy for treating neurological diseases" was invented by Jang-Yen Wu (Boca Raton, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Gene therapy using expression vectors containing a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (GCSF) gene are able to protect cells in a cell-based as well as animal-based models for ischemic stroke."

The patent was filed on Nov. 5, 2020, under Application No. 17/089,770.
