ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,352,136, issued on July 8, was assigned to Chevron U.S.A. Inc. (San Ramon, Calif.).

"Downhole sand control screen system" was invented by Jeremy Alexander Davis (Humble, Texas), Antonio Lazo (Houston), Reza Sarrafi-Nour (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and David Reuel Underdown (Conroe, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "System and method of non-line-of-sight coating of a sand screen for use in wellbores during the production of hydrocarbon fluids from subterranean formations. The coatings can have uniformly coated internal and external surfaces."

The patent was filed on Oct. 18, 2021, under Application No. 17/503,604.
