ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,378,868, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to Chevron U.S.A. Inc. (San Ramon, Calif.).

"Closed-loop automation of well operations" was invented by Amine Zejli (Houston), Johannes Cornelis Visser (Midland, Texas), Tomislav Basic (Grad Zagreb, Croatia) and Kendall Caldwell Farrell (Carlsbad, N.M.).
