ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,281,064, issued on April 22, was assigned to Chevron U.S.A. Inc. (San Ramon, Calif.).

"Methods for dehydrogenation of perhydro-benzyltoluene" was invented by Christopher Declan Lane (San Ramon, Calif.), Steven Xuqi Song (San Ramon, Calif.), Bi-Zeng Zhan (San Ramon, Calif.), Trenton J. Otto (San Ramon, Calif.), Michael J. Girgis (San Ramon, Calif.) and Yaofan Yi (San Ramon, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods for dehydrogenation of perhydro-benzyltoluene are described. The representative two stage reaction processes described herein provide cost-effective high amount of conversion to hydrogen and/or other beneficial products."
