ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,391,898, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to CHEVRON JAPAN Ltd. (Tokyo) and CHEVRON ORONITE COMPANY LLC (San Ramon, Calif.).

"Friction modifier system" was invented by Taiki Hattori (Shizuoka, Japan), Koichi Kubo (Yokohama, Japan) and William Raymond Ruhe Jr. (Solano, Calif.).
