ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,259,383, issued on March 25, was assigned to Charles River Laboratories International Inc. (Wilmington, Mass.).

"Cho host cell protein assay" was invented by Olaf Stamm (Erkrath, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides compositions, kits, and methods for the detection of host cell proteins (HCPs) in biological samples. In some embodiments, the present invention utilizes immunization of aves hosts with proteins derived from non-aves host cells to produce aves antibodies specific for non-aves HCPs."

The patent was filed on Jan. 31, 2022, under Application No. 17/589,067.
