ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,466,703, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to Chapman/Leonard Studio Equipment Inc. (North Hollywood, Calif.).

"Dynamic counterbalance adjustment for telescoping cranes" was invented by Graham Baskett (Glendale, Calif.) and Charles L. Huenergardt (Los Angeles).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A telescoping crane has an adjustable, pivoting payload, and a counterbalance mechanism that automatically compensates for the position of the telescoping crane and movement of the payload relative to the crane."
