ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,424,758, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (Paris).
"Radiofrequency antenna for a satellite" was invented by Mehdi Sodki (Maureville, France) and Ornella Blanc (Toulouse, France).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A radiofrequency antenna is adapted to be mounted on a spacecraft. The radiofrequency antenna includes four helical strands of a super elastic shape memory alloy and is configured to move from a deployed configuration to a constrained stacking configuration and to return autonomously to the deployed configuration."
