ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,259,042, issued on March 25, was assigned to Centex Industrial Gaskey LLC (Leander, Texas).

"Elastomeric sealing device" was invented by Landon Plumlee (Leander, Texas), Clinton Plumlee (Leander, Texas) and Rosemary Cohoon (Leander, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described is seal that can replace an O-ring seal in an existing machine. The seal could also be used in place of an O-ring in a new machine. The seal includes a top and bottom surface and a bead that extends from the top surface for seating into the O-ring-seating groove."

The patent was filed on Feb. 29, 2024, under Application No. 18/592,265.
