US Patent Issued to CE ITS on Dec. 2 for "Boom gate" (Australian Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,486,628, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to CE ITS Pty Ltd (Australia).

"Boom gate" was invented by James Morris (Brookvale, Australia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A boom gate including a boom gate body having a first end mounted to a pivot mechanism and a second end and a controlled failure region, wherein the boom gate body comprises at least one hollow tube being substantially comprised of carbon fibre or a derivative thereof, and the controlled failure region enables the boom gate to undergo controlled failure upon receiving a high-speed impact."
