ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,987, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to Caterpillar Paving Products Inc. (Brooklyn Park, Minn.).
"Dust mitigation for depth and speed applications" was invented by Jameson Michael Smieja (Mound, Minn.) and Travis D. McClung (Las Vegas).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A work machine for roadwork can include a frame, a power source, and a milling rotor operatively connected to the power source and the frame. Examples can also include a dust mitigation system having a controller. The controller can be configured to control the dust mitigation system based on a target dust mitigation level and a milling parameter of the work machine."
