ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,350,575, issued on July 8, was assigned to CASCADE MAVERIK LACROSSE LLC (Liverpool, N.Y.).

"Limb protector" was invented by Doug Hemink (Camillus, N.Y.), Ian Hefflefinger (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Kayla Deangelis (Camillus, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A limb protector has a sheath having at least one elastic portion and a limb guard received in the sheath. The sheath defines a sheath aperture in a side thereof. The limb guard is removable from the sheath. The limb guard has a pad and a pin connected to the pad. The pin extends from an external side of the pad. The pin extends through the sheath aperture."
