ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,320,561, issued on June 3, was assigned to Carrier Corp. (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.).
"HVAC unit with expansion device" was invented by Cheng Chen (Avon, Ind.) and Larry D. Burns (Avon, Ind.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An outdoor HVAC unit includes a housing. A compressor is located within the housing. A heat exchanger is located within the housing and is in fluid communication with the compressor. At least one expansion device is located within the housing and is in fluid communication with the heat exchanger."
The patent was filed on Sept. 9, 2020, under Application No. 17/255,249.
