ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,448,293, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to CARBON HOLDINGS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES LLC (Ranchester, Wyo.).
"Methods for producing graphene from coal" was invented by Charles Agee Atkins (Sheridan, Wyo.), Garrett W. Lindemann (Buffalo, Wyo.) and Matthew Targett (Sheridan, Wyo.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of preparing graphene from coal can include thermally processing raw coal and, after the coal has been at least partially cooled from thermal processing, forming reduced graphene oxide from the coal."
The patent was filed on Dec. 10, 2020, under Application No. 17/118,390.
