ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,329,183, issued on June 17, was assigned to Caravan Ingredients Inc. (Lenexa, Kan.).
"Feed ingredients comprising lysed microbial cells" was invented by Walter Rakitsky (San Diego), John Piechocki (South San Francisco, Calif.) and Wenhua Lu (South San Francisco, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relate to feed ingredients and formulated feed, methods for their manufacture, and uses thereof in nutritional applications such as in aquaculture, terrestrial animal feed, and human nutrition. The feed ingredient compositions comprise lysed microbial cells with a small aspect ratio and triglyceride oil."
