ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,373,843, issued on July 29, was assigned to Capital One Services LLC (McLean, Va.).

"Generating a random verification code for a transaction" was invented by Joshua Edwards (Philadelphia), Abdelkadar M'hamed Benkreira (Washington) and Michael Mossoba (Arlington, Va.).
