ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,499,432, issued on Dec. 16, was assigned to Capital One Services LLC (McLean, Va.).

"Techniques to perform operations with a contactless card when in the presence of a trusted device" was invented by William Broome (Salt Lake City), Joshua McGarity (Beacon, N.Y.) and Timothy Tran (Springfield, Va.).
