ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,458,233, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to Canon U.S.A. Inc. (Melville, N.Y.).
"Optical safety device" was invented by Badr Elmaanaoui (Belmont, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An apparatus includes a wavelength swept light source to generate a measurement beam, a scanner to move the measurement beam on a sample, a measurement device to measure the sample, and a safety device to stop the light source based on sweeping status of the light source."
The patent was filed on Jan. 24, 2023, under Application No. 18/159,004.
