ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,301,771, issued on May 13, was assigned to Canon K.K. (Tokyo).
"Image processing apparatus for inputting characters using touch panel, control method thereof and storage medium" was invented by Kenichi Shiraishi (Kawasaki, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "To make it possible for a user to easily perform partial editing for an unsettled file name or the like being displayed on a UI screen of the image processing apparatus. An editing a UI screen that takes a character string selected by a user as a target is displayed."
