ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,447,362, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to Buckingham Manufacturing Co. Inc. (Binghamton, N.Y.).
"Lanyard" was invented by Kevin Truesdell (Binghamton, N.Y.), Keith Blakeslee (Vancouver, Wash.) and Scott Barnes (Vancouver, Wash.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A lanyard comprising a rope with segmented apertures and a prusik. The prusik can be attached to one of the apertures to help a user stay attached to the tree or pole."
The patent was filed on May 9, 2022, under Application No. 17/740,243.
