ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,409,183, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to BTG INTERNATIONAL INC. (West Conshohocken, Pa.).

"Method of using iloprost for treating frostbite" was invented by Kevin A. Christal (Burlingame, Calif.), Christa-Lynn J. Vampola (Los Altos, Calif.) and Wade W. Benton (Emerald Hills, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure generally relates to treatment of frostbite by intravenous injection or intravenous infusion of iloprost or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof."

The patent was filed on July 18, 2024, under Application No. 18/776,438.
